Digital marketing, built as one system

Most businesses buy digital marketing in pieces — a website from one supplier, ads from another, social from a third — and nobody owns what happens between them. We build it as six stages, in a fixed order, where each stage feeds the next.

Digital, at Luminary Axis, is the full internet-marketing engine — website, search, paid media, content, lead generation, e-commerce and automation — built as six stages in which each one feeds the next.

Why run digital marketing as one system?

Because each stage only pays off if the next one works. Traffic is wasted on a site that does not convert; leads are wasted if nobody follows them up; customers are wasted if nobody brings them back. Running the stages as one system means the weak link gets fixed, not just the visible one.

01

Discover — be found

Being findable wherever your customers look: on Google, in maps, in AI assistants and on social platforms. Everything later in the system depends on this — no amount of conversion work helps a business nobody can find.

Also in this stage: Google Business Profile set-up and upkeep.

02

Capture — visits into intent

Turning the people who arrive into people who act: a site built to convert, and paid media that brings the right visitors rather than the most visitors. Paid traffic comes after the site is ready for it, not before.

Also in this stage: website traffic and conversion optimisation, and paid media planning.

03

Engage & Grow — stay in the conversation

Most buyers are not ready the first time they arrive. Content, WhatsApp and email keep you in the conversation until they are, and give them a reason to come back to you rather than to whoever they find next.

Also in this stage: WhatsApp engagement and email marketing.

05

Retain & Scale — grow who you have

The customers you already have are usually the cheapest growth available. Analytics shows what is actually happening; trend mapping shows where it is heading; cross-sell, upsell and lifecycle automation turn one purchase into a relationship.

In this stage: analytics, trend mapping, cross-sell and upsell, and lifecycle automation.

06

Intelligence & Automation — make it run itself

Once the system works, AI and automation keep it working without adding people: routing and qualifying enquiries, triggering follow-ups, producing reports. Automation comes last on purpose — automating a broken process only makes it fail faster.

Automation

Which kind of automation do you need?

Automating marketing — how enquiries are captured, followed up and reported — is the last stage of Digital. Automating how the business itself runs — operations, internal tools, data — is technology transformation. Same word, two different jobs, and usually two different people asking.

Questions

Digital: common questions

Do we have to engage all six stages?

No. Most engagements start with one or two stages — usually wherever the system is leaking most. The value of seeing all six is knowing what the stage you buy depends on, so that money spent on traffic is not lost to a website that does not convert or a lead that nobody follows up.

Where does a Digital engagement usually start?

With an audit of the whole system: how you are found, what happens when someone arrives, how enquiries are handled and what happens after the first sale. The first stage we work on is the one where the audit shows the biggest loss, not necessarily Discover.

What is the difference between SEO and AEO or GEO?

SEO earns a place in search results. AEO and GEO aim to make your business the answer that AI assistants and answer engines give, which depends on clear, consistent, extractable information about who you are and what you do. They overlap heavily, and we run them together in the Discover stage.

How do you report on digital work?

Against the milestones agreed at the start of the engagement, tied to enquiries, sales or donations rather than impressions alone. Reports say what is working, what is not and what we will change, including when the thing not working is our own work.

Is WhatsApp part of your digital marketing work?

Yes. WhatsApp engagement sits in the Engage & Grow stage alongside content and email, because for many customers it is where the conversation actually happens. We set it up so enquiries arrive with context and are followed up, rather than lost in a personal phone.
