How an engagement with Luminary Axis works
The same sequence every time: understand what is actually there, agree a plan in writing, deliver it with your team, and report against the milestones honestly. Nothing is signed until you know what will happen and when.
What happens in the first conversation?
We ask where things stand and what you are trying to change, and we tell you plainly whether we are the right partner for it. There is no charge and no pitch deck. If there is a fit, the next step is a short audit; if there is not, we will usually suggest who to talk to instead.
Four stages, in this order
Audit before advice
We look at what is actually there before proposing anything: how the organisation operates, how it shows up digitally, where it sits in its market, and what the numbers say. For a fundraising engagement that means donor acquisition and retention; for a startup, the model and the pitch; for a business, the funnel and the operations behind it.
If we do not yet know enough to have a view, we say so and go and find out. No recommendation arrives before the evidence for it.
A written plan
A plan specific to your goals: what we will do, in what order, who owns each part, and what it is expected to move. It is scoped so you can accept all of it or only the parts you want.
The milestones we will report against are agreed here, before the work starts.
Execution with your team
We deliver the plan ourselves — campaigns, websites, systems, pitch material, fundraising operations — working alongside your people rather than around them. What we build is documented, so the capability stays in your organisation after the engagement ends.
Measure, correct, scale
We report against the agreed milestones, including when something is not working — our own work included. When the evidence says the plan should change, it changes. What works gets more weight; what does not gets stopped.
Do you work alongside our team or instead of it?
Alongside it. We do the work ourselves, but inside your organisation's way of operating: your people are involved in each stage, own decisions, and keep what we build. The aim is that you could run it without us afterwards, which is also the only honest basis for a long engagement.
Start with one service, or all of them
The shape of an engagement can change as you go. These are the three it usually takes.
One service, done well
You know what you need right now — a website, a pitch, a market study, a fundraising channel. We deliver that one thing, with no long-term commitment attached.
Two to four services, one plan
Services that feed each other — search and the website, a pitch and the model behind it — run as a single coordinated plan rather than as separate projects.
An embedded team
Strategy, execution, optimisation and scale across every practice you need. We work as part of your team for as long as it is useful.
The people doing the thinking
We run a small in-house team and bring in specialist freelancers — designers, developers, videographers, field researchers, canvassers — for the parts of an engagement that need them.
That keeps senior people on your account rather than a junior team executing someone else's slides, and there is no account manager between you and the work. About the firm.
How is an engagement priced?
Against your situation, after the first conversation and the audit — not from a package list. Fixed packages tend to include work you do not need. You receive a written scope and sequence with a proposal, and you can accept it in full or in part.
Start with a conversation
Tell us where things stand and what you want to move. We will tell you honestly whether we can help.
